About This Project

Forum Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia

$4M

The old heritage envelope gave JA creatives the opportunity to introduce, a new contemporary vibe to the theatre now acting as a new multipurpose event space.

The redesign of the Forum Melbourne increased the capacity of the venue to 250-550 for dinner, 400- 1,500 for cocktail events, and up to 800 for presentations.

Standing room in the main auditorium was widened to increase its capacity from 1,500 to 2,000.

This includes:

  • Refurbishment of the entrance, restoring the original mosaic tiles.
  • The venue’s original astronomical clock is now on display.
  • The original marble staircase has been restored.
  • The standing room has been refurbished and widened.
  • New contemporary timber booths have been installed.
  • Refurbishment of new amenities in the toilets.
  • New bar inside the main hall.
  • New refurbished underground lounge.
