Calvary Bethlehem Health & Retirement Precinct
Location
Caulfield South, Victoria
Cost
AUD $150M
Jackson Architecture currently completed the redevelopment of the site for the Calvary Bethlehem Health and Retirement Precinct. The Health and Retirement Precinct provides progressive care from Independent Living Units to Residential Aged Care and Specialist Palliative and Progressive Neurological Services. The Precinct will also provide Community Health Services/Allied Health Services and General Practitioners as well Community gardens and ancillary retail/cafes.
The design of the Health and Retirement Precinct is functional and reflects the delivery of an innovative and integrated healthcare model. In ensuring the delivery of the innovative use the proposed design of the building has also considered the amenity on the surrounding locality. The proposal provides activation at the pedestrian level
along Kooyong Road and Saturn Street, which reintroduces the site to the surrounding locality. This is also achieved by the provision of Community Open Space and additional landscaping, which reduce the bulk and scale of the building. The proposal has been designed for the functional delivery of health services, but has carefully considered the interaction with the surrounding locality.
