Strategic Development Framework
The New Generation Academy delivers Stage 2 of a three Stage Master Plan. It includes the creation of a welcoming parkland for community use with picnic tables, a playground, fitness stations and seating around the ovals. In addition, the south oval will now be ‘community oval’ for public games and events, able to host community football, AFLW and VFL games.

Accordingly, the arrangement of the new spaces revolves around the re-purposing of south oval, with views across the field of play a key consideration.
The aim is to build strong connections between the club and local community. Stage 3 of the master plan proposes to strengthen this connection further with additional community facilities planned.

Responding to Climate
A key Master Planning strategy was to extend the wind break provided by the 2013 development. The boomerang-shaped plan protects the northern training oval from the prevailing winds that roar across the western basalt planes, and thus shelter activities occurring on the eastern side of the facility.
