WA Midlands Operation Support Centre

The heritage-listed 1910 Midland Railway was converted into a “building within a building” providing an exciting state of the art modern office complex for the WA Police State Traffic Operations. The new three storey office architectural design had unusual sloping facades and the floor to floor heights were severely restricted by the external envelope.
The structural systems provided a thin floor structural element, unimpeded by beams to allow free access for mechanical ventilations, within the tight spaces.
This project was the recipient of Australian Institute of Architects Design Award and Heritage Award, MBA Construction Award and WA Heritage Council Gerry Gauntlett Award for Excellence in Adaptive Reuse.
