The Australian Institute of Sport, Sports Science & Sports Medicine Hub brings together a number of highly specialised medical, testing and laboratory spaces to enable coaches to monitor and understand athletes’ capabilities. The key objective is to enable athletes to improve their performance.
The recently completed design was delivered through a highly collaborative and streamlined workshop process that facilitated an extremely challenging programme of eight weeks from engagement to full tender documentation.
Light filled galleries and corridors connect levels and overlook the landscaped courtyard at ground level. The medical, testing and laboratory spaces are highly specialised, incorporating significant technical requirements.
It includes disciplines such as sports nutrition, performance analysis, skill acquisition, physiology, recovery, biomechanics, athlete career, education, strength and conditioning, psychology, physical therapies, talent identification, and applied performance research.

- A new altitude training ‘live-in ‘facility and laboratory;
- A new indoor 150m, 6 lane running track and athletes testing areas;

- New audio visual suites;
- A new entry atrium, cafe and courtyard; and
- New offices and staff amenities.
